Unholy Pallys come essentially in three different flavours Caster, Melee and Hybrid. I would say I'd give you your money back, but you're not paying me, so I won't. There's very little reason to not play an Unholy Paladin and not be satisfied with the result. They are capable of doing huge amounts of damage with all six main damage elements (with only one skill not multi-targetting), Shadowform turns them and their allies into tanks and regenerates mana, they can convert enemies to their cause (take THAT insanely popular Hermit Druid build!), and like all other Paladins collect huge amounts of gold with ease. None of them have come close to the strength of an Unholy Paladin. I've played many of the other classes in the game, a handful to the Attribute/Uber Challenges.
Let me start by saying that I am of the honest opinion that Unholy Paladins absolutely rock. As you can probably imagine, we'll be looking squarely at the Unholy branch of things. Unlike the other characters who gain the benefit of having all three skill tabs available to them, a Paladin by comparison has access to only one of two main branches Holy and Unholy. The paladin represents an usual prospect in terms of building a character.
Well for the sake of your sanity I'm cutting back on the second part and getting straight into it, with. Usually when I create a guide it's for a specific build, and includes a lot of precursory rambling that has little if nothing to do with what I'm going to actually be talking about.
